LOCAL Fire Accident: Fire Razes Kaduna Gas Market

Just 2 days off the heavy fire incidence which went down at Otedola bridge, Lagos Ibadan expressway, yet another fire incident has occurred this time in Kaduna.
The inferno took place at the Kaduna gas market as gas dealers on Abeokuta Street in the Kaduna North Local Government Area, looked on helplessly on Saturday as their property, valued at millions of naira, went up in flames as fire gutted about 10 shops.
According to media house, PUNCH, the fire started around 5:50 pm.
According to an eyewitness, who is also a dealer, Nwanbude Chukwudalu, the fire was caused by an electric spark in one of the shops.
He said, “The fire started from a neighbor’s shop. He was refilling gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and at the same time, testing an electric cooker. There was a spark from the electric cooker and before we knew what was happening, flame-covered everywhere and the cylinders started exploding.’’
A team of police officers from Magajin Gari Police Division promptly arrived at the scene to forestall any breakdown of law and order from angry youths in the area.
